Bringing Japan to Mumbai- via your stomachs!
The festival held at the campus started off as an endeavour by the students to bring Japanese cuisine to India and has turned out to be on of the most popular food festivals, acknowledged with a Guinness world record for the largest sushi mosaic. During the festival, the visitors can expect to experience various aspects of Japanese culture like the Green Tea ceremony, Ikebana displays and Origami along with authentic bites including okanomiyaki and sushi to top it off with scrumptious desserts. International chef Shinya Saito will be flying down especially to train and guide the students. Limited passes available.Grab yours now! A Note from the Literary Committee There we have it! Finally… a college monthly newsletter! This being the first issue, I, Pooja Chiplunkar, Literary Committee Head, would like to acknowledge the efforts and enthusiasm shown by all the members of the committee and everyone else involved in putting this newsletter together. This issue will take you through the events that have taken place in college so far to give you a glimpse of how, at IHM Mumbai, we don’t only “cook, serve and clean” but also actively participate in many extra-curricular events both, in and out of college. This year especially, we celebrated various festivals which depict the culture of India. We also bring to you the sunshine story of the “Oh So Famous college band –The Atomic Kitchen” and the latest feather added to their cap.
On
behalf of the literary committee, I would like to thank Mitali Ma’am and
Mitsy Ma’am for their help and support for making this possible. Enjoy ! Pooja Chiplunkar Literary Committee Head A note from the College President Yes. Its official, the newsletter of IHM Mumbai is up and running and hopefully here to stay. In the inaugural issue of “The Monthly Punch”, I would like to humbly admit that there have been several such concepts of a newsletter that have been tried and in their own right in the years gone by, were a success. Our latest attempt at establishing the newsletter is to echo the rapid technological modernization on a global scale with a healthy dose of good old IHM Mumbai life. We want you, the students to be a part of something special and welcome any kind of contribution to the newsletter. This will serve as the perfect platform to showcase your linguistic skills and your passion for anything in life. So do contribute and get noticed! Cheers! Anmol Menon menon.anmol@gmail.com
