Bakery Week- Nov.19 to 23, 2007
In collaboration with The Alliance Française de Bombay, IHM, Mumbai is organizing a week of culinary delight centering around French viennoiserie.
Chef Patrice Ducros, French Baker and Pastry Chef will be our Guest.
Trained by the ‘Compagnons du Tour de France’(an association formed centuries ago, of experts in their chosen fields who are willing to pass on their culinary knowledge to apprentices who in turn will do the same. The apprentice accomplishes his training and becomes a 'Compagnon' by making a tour of every region and learning its cuisine form the 'Compagnon' of that region.), Chef Ducros will share his skills and will initiate students, professionals and amateurs into the secrets of French pastry making.

100 Students from IHM Mumbai fly to Dubai to work for the famed Dubai Air Show
0n 6th November 2007, passengers traveling to Dubai by Emirates flight were pleasantly surprised to see a crowd of happy young girls and boys in identical business suits as their co passengers. Every alternate year, final year students of the 54 year old premiere Institute of Hotel Management (Dadar Catering College) look forward to this event.
Dubai Air Show 2007, which is taking place from 11th to 15th November, is the 10th biennial event. For the 5th successive time, representatives of the official F&B service providers to the air show conducted on-campus interview to select 100 students.
On reaching Dubai, the students will receive thorough induction and training. After this, they will be placed to work in the venues where food and beverage service is provided to the visitors and exhibitors. Two faculty members accompany the students.
Apart from decent accommodation, transport, meals and allowances, the students are taken on Desert Safari, city sightseeing, and given a grand send off party. Students return with a store of unforgettable, rich, global, cross-cultural exposure which helps them lifelong in their careers in the hospitality industry.
