Kanitkar unveils her emotions on coming to Mumbai from home
This short poem was written on the first day of college. Having just moved from a small town to the “big bad city”, it was very unnerving and I was scared witless, but it wasn’t so bad after all.
"It is a beginning and an end, With a void in between, I am so confused that I don’t know which way is up. There are things I want to escape And things that I hate to leave behind I hate giving up my safety net but a new day I find It strengthens and weakens my resolve by turns For I want to succeed but fear the unknown So with a clear mind and an unsure heart I proceed today For it is only today that I have to make beautiful". |
"This poem came about while studying for the Food & Beverage exam in the 2nd year. When all hope is lost, this poem helps rejuvenate the mind", says Varun Mani |
